A serious accident involving a truck and a motor home left three injured, one seriously affected, on the N157, the Paris-Rennes road, at the Brece Junction. The accident occurred when the driver of the motor home, with two passengers, was overtaking a double line of trucks. His vehicle rolled several times. The passenger of 68 years has been ejected and taken by the ambulance. A 4 and a half years old child has been cut from the wreckage.
It is 12.20pm on Tuesday, when firefighters were alerted of a violent accident on the N157 at the junction to Brece.
A camper, with on board two adults and a child, traveling in the direction Paris-Rennes, has just rolled several times on four lanes. The sprayed shell is on the side of the road.
Seriously injured woman
On arrival, emergency quickly support the woman who was ejected during the impact. Physicians from Smur have medicalized her locally for an initial examination on the state of her injuries before transferring in serious condition to the University Hospital Pontchaillou in Rennes. She injuries include a broken leg.
The child stuck in the cockpit
Her grand-son of four and a half is stuck in the deformed cabin. It was necessary for the rescue team to cut her from the motorhome. The driver, aged 70, was also injured.
The accident appears to be the result in the overtaking of a series of three trucks by the camper. The driver was surprised by one of these trucks, when it indicated its intention to move to the left lane. On Tuesday night, it was too early to determine if there was a collision between the two vehicles.
A police investigation has been opened.
