Meteo France has maintained, on Wednesday morning, twelve departments in the Southeast of France on orange alert for heatwave. The end of this wave of hot weather is expected no earlier than Thursday.

It may be very hot in the south-eastern part of France on Wednesday. In its morning report, Meteo France has maintained twelve departments on orange alert for a heatwave. The alert concerns the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Hautes-Alpes, Alpes-Maritimes, Ardèche, Bouches-du-Rhone, the Corse-du-Sud, Haute-Corse, Drôme, the Isère, Rhône, Var and Vaucluse.

This episode of hot weather should last at least until Thursday. Until then, “the maximum Wednesday day temperatures should easily exceed 34 degrees on the Lyonnais and Dauphine, 36 degrees in the Rhone valley, and often exceed 38 degrees in the PACA region and even more occasionally in Corsica for days to come”, announce the forecasters.

However, the storm alert for the departments of Ain, Allier, Côte-d’Or, Doubs, Jura, Loire, Haute-Loire, Haute-Marne, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Moselle, Puy-de-Dôme , Bas-Rhin, Haut-Rhin, Rhône, Haute-Saône, Saône-et-Loire, Vosges and Belfort was lifted as planned in the night.
