IndyCar: Bourdais 2nd at Long Beach

Sébastien Bourdais remains leader IndyCar

Sébastien Bourdais has mounted on the second step of the podium of the GP of Long Beach, in the second round of the IndyCar championship. Manceau is outpaced by James Hinchcliffe (PMS Honda) but remains the championship leader.

After a successful race in Saint Petersburg, Sébastien Bourdais confirmed on the street circuit in Long Beach his good form of the moment by getting a 2nd place in California. This confirms in passing the health of Honda powered cars.

In an event where Castroneves darted from pole position, the vagaries of yellow flags helped Bourdais. First to return to the pits repairing his car damaged by debris, and then in a second time in just over 20 laps to stabilize the rankings.

Wedged behind Hunter-Ray, the Le Mans driver profited setbacks driver of Andretti Autosport – Honda forced to give up on technical problems. This incident allowed Bourdais to pick a place and get on the 2nd step of the podium behind Hinchcliffe.

Simon Pagenaud ends in the fifth position.

The next round will take place Sunday, April 23 in Birmingham Alabama for the GP.
