In Loire-Atlantique, the Charal agri-food factory will close in Nozay

The closure of the Charal agri-food site in Nozay (Loire-Atlantique) has been confirmed. It is one of the eight French sites of the company, a subsidiary of the Bigard group.
This is a major employment site in the municipality. The food factory Charal in Nozay (Loire-Atlantique) will close within a year, in June 2027.
Information confirmed by the union of the local CGT union of Châteaubriant and by Hervé Bruchet, departmental secretary of Stapa (union of agri-food processing and agricultural production) of Loire-Atlantique for the CFDT. It is a total closure, officially announced to employees since Thursday June 11 and to the social and economic committee the day before. Activity will be refocused in Cholet

The factory currently employs 97 people and produces snacks (hamburgers, hot dogs). It is one of eight sites (including slaughterhouses) owned by the company. Charal depends on the parent company Bigard, the leading industrialist in its field in Europe with 60 sites, based in Finistère.
