Gaza: “No offensive” by Israel will prevent the movement to recognize Palestine, says Macron

WARNING: Macron warned Israel against any “annexation” or “offensive”, reaffirming with Saudi Arabia his support for the recognition of the Palestinian state
During an exchange Tuesday with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, Emmanuel Macron warned Israel that “no offensive, attempt at annexation and displacement of populations will stop the dynamic” aimed at advancing the recognition of a Palestinian State.
A warning which comes as Paris and Riyadh seek to rally other international partners around this initiative, as Belgium did yesterday and Canada and the United Kingdom before.
Affirm the role of France
The head of state also criticized the American decision to refuse visas to Palestinian officials invited to the UN General Assembly. “This is not acceptable”, he stressed, calling Washington to “return to this measure and allow Palestinian representation in accordance with the headquarters agreement”.
With these declarations, Emmanuel Macron intends to affirm France’s role in diplomatic discussions on the recognition of Palestine, while denouncing the political and security obstacles which slow down this process.
