A Repair cafe opens this Tuesday 20th June in Pornic. Originally, two friends who wanted to act for the environment while promoting social ties.
A repair café is a place where volunteers help you repair your broken items, such as electrical appliances, clothes, bicycles, etc. It is an ecological and solidarity initiative that aims to reduce waste and share know-how.
The good news is that such a place will see the light of day, from this Tuesday 20th June 2023, then once a month in Pornic (Loire-Atlantique)! “And perhaps even in other municipalities in the agglomeration”, rejoices Noëlle Jouannic.
This 48-year-old Pornicaise, business coach, created the Réinventons-nous association with Virginie Merceron, company manager, who is also very focused on this notion of circular and solidarity economy, “ecological and social values that are dear to us”. , notes Noelle Jouannic.

“We took stock of what already existed locally, particularly in Saint-Brevin, and we were quickly encouraged to develop a repair café in Pornic”, continues Noëlle.
The two project leaders were supported by the Waste service of Pornic agglo pays de Retz, “which will come to the premiere this Tuesday evening”, as well as by Internet users on Facebook or even participants in garage sales in the sector.
“We’re pretty lucky since we already have a dozen volunteers ready to get involved. “Some know about bicycles, others about textiles and clothing, electronics… “We also have jack-of-all-trades! »
Attention volunteers!
It remains to find even more goodwill to share knowledge during workshop meetings at the L’Oak café, whose owners were won over by this initiative. In the meantime, residents can now come and discover this friendly team of volunteers, men and women aged 30 to 67, eager to share their solutions.
