Bac: "all students will have their results Friday," says Jean-Michel Blanquer

After having gone on strike for the supervision of the Philo test, professors refuse to seize the notes of the candidates but also, for some, to return the copies.

The Minister of Education, Jean-Michel Blanquer, assured Wednesday that “all” candidates for the baccalaureate would have their results Friday 5th  July 2019, as planned, despite the strike of some of the correctors.

“The students will have their result it is my duty to guarantee this (…), all will have their results,” he said on BFM-TV .

Since the beginning of the tests on June 17, correctors want to force the government to reopen negotiations on the reforms of the high school and the baccalaureate they denounce. After having gone on strike for the supervision of the Philo test, they refuse to seize the notes of the candidates but also, for some, to return the copies.

Another 100,000 copies missing

By Thursday eve of the result, “we can not exclude that some do not have made (…) In the event that there would still be some missing notes, what happens at each session (…) then we will take the continuous control note of the year on a provisional basis Friday “to complete the average, explained the minister. “That way, those who have to take the catch-up will know it on Friday.”

“If early this week we finally copy and that the note is better, this is the one that will be (taking into account, note), if we keep the continuous monitoring of note,” he said.

He estimated the number of missing copies on Wednesday at less than 100,000, he said:

“I think tomorrow morning it will have dropped below 50,000.”

The collective “Bloquons Blanquer”, which keeps a count online, advance him, the figure of 126 000 copies currently retained (out of a total of 4 million copies).

Jean-Michel Blanquer again indicated that “teachers who would put themselves in the situation (not to return copies, ed) are considered strikers from the day they took the copies, it means a withdrawal of salaries of 10 to 15 days. “I think it’s a deterrent,” he said.
