Sad discovery, in the city centre of Rodez (Aveyron). It was around 11 am on Tuesday 11th June 2019, when the police found themselves face to face with the body of a man, in an apartment located rue de La Bullière, in the city of ruthénoise. In a state of advanced decomposition, the body lay there “for several months, perhaps almost a year,” says the Departmental Directorate of Public Security of Aveyron.
A “drama of solitude”
For the investigators, the natural death of this man is no doubt. “Housing was naturally closed”, supports this same source, indicating that it is most likely a “drama of loneliness”. The 60-year-old man lived alone. For months, no family member, friend, or neighbour, worried about having no news.
His rent unpaid, a bailiff intervened
The police intervened because he had not paid his rent for a long time. They had just been solicited by a bailiff, who went on site to resume housing on behalf of a real estate agent. The police issued a death certificate.
