Switzerland's Roger Federer qualifies for the second round of Roland-Garros on May 26, 2019

He was (very) expected on the clay court of Roland Garros, four years after his last participation. Roger Federer beat Italy’s Lorenzo Sonego in three sets.

Roger Federer has signed a winning comeback at Roland-Garros by dominating the Italian Lorenzo Sonego (73) 6-2, 6-4, 6-4 in a little over an hour and a half Sunday, four years after his last participation at the Paris tournament.

At the Roland-Garros, the last match of the Swiss Grand Slam twenty-trophy (record) went back to 2015, when he lost in the quarter-finals against his compatriot Stan Wawrinka (6-4, 6-3, 7-6 (7/4)), future winner. In the second round, Federer, ex-N.1 World N.3 today, will be opposed to the German Oscar Otte, 145th world player and lucky loser.
