PSG could celebrate Sunday evening

With the draw of Lille against Reims, the Paris club could be crowned champion of France, Sunday 7th April, 2019, the Parc des Princes, opposite Strasbourg.

Heckled by the PSG ultra after the European Cup fiasco, the teammates of the “shark” Kylian Mbappé can chew an 8th title of champion of France from Sunday 7th April, 2019, at 9 pm, at the Parc des Princes against Strasbourg, a coronation welcome in a half-hearted season.

“Sunday, we can reach our goal, I hope we can do it in front of our supporters, to celebrate together,” said Marco Verratti, Saturday, in pre-match conference.

The premature elimination in the Champions League against Manchester United a month ago “stay in our head, but we must move forward” and win a new national title, a consecration “always moving” according to the Italian environment.

Lille neutralized in Reims

Lille did not have the opportunity to play the spoilsport: by doing one everywhere in Reims, the second of the championship did not take away from the leader Parisian the possibility of being titled on the 31st day (with another late game to play).

In fact, the suspense is virtually reduced to nothing since last November 24, when Edinson Cavani had dropped Toulouse (1-0) at the same time as a record, that of the best start in the history of the L1 with 14 wins in 14 matches.

Without “Ney”, “Edi” or Di Maria

From the outside, winning “seems easier, but we know the efforts we make in the week” in training to maintain the highest level, ensures Verratti, the club since 2012.

“If you still win, you get to a point where everyone thinks it’s easy and the others are not strong enough” but that’s not true, his trainer Thomas Tuchel says.

The Parisian team, beaten only once in the league in Lyon, “is exceptional because it is still concentrated, it is hungry for victories,” says the German technician who lives his first season in Paris.

The former Borussia coach Dordmund would of course like to win the title on Sunday, but he is wary of both Lille and Strasbourg, recent winner of the Coupe de la Ligue.

“It’s better to be focused on ourselves and not think too much about the consequences that can happen after the match,” he said, pointing out that it will be “difficult” to win on Sunday because team has “a lot of injured players”.

In attack, Edinson Cavani (hip), Neymar (foot) and Angel Di Maria (thigh) remain unavailable, while the young Moussa Diaby is forfeited.

Buffon in goal

“+ Ney started running and doing individual work with the ball,” while Cavani forced himself to “work hard with the ball”, but the two have not yet resumed collective training, a- he explained.

Di Maria is in the recovery phase but “not 100%, he is not able to play tomorrow (Sunday),” according to the coach who has also announced the tenure of goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, weaned match since the European elimination.

Tuchel, however, can always count on his nugget Kylian Mbappé, which he recently compared to a shark: “If you drop a drop of blood, it happens,” he had fun Tuesday.

Against the Alsatians, the insatiable 20-year-old Paris striker will still want to push his goals counter, which already has 27 units in the league.

Statistically, the young world champion is in on Olympic form with 9 goals scored in the last 7 meetings of L1. During this golden series, he beat alone Saint-Etienne (1-0), Caen (2-0, doubled) and Toulouse (1-0). For Strasbourg, it is the public enemy number 1.
