A 36 year old woman was sentenced by the court of Evry to twelve months in prison, six suspended for giving seven stab wounds to her dog. Alcoholic, she was annoyed by the barking of her pet named Hazel. The dachshund, aged two, survived its injuries.

She could not stand the barking of her dog. A woman aged 36 living in Evry ( Essonne ) was sentenced Wednesday to twelve months in prison, six suspended by the Evry tribunal. Drunk, she stabbed several times on Monday his dachshund named Hazel, relays Le Parisien .

“I caught the first one that came”

This old homeless woman lives with a friend and his seven dogs. At the time, she drank a half a bottle of rum. While the animals start barking, she grabs a chance. “I went out and I grabbed the first one that came, I do not know why Hazel, it could also have been Eden” , she said in court.

She takes her dog of 2 years into the bathroom and stabbed it seven times in the stomach, back and neck, with a huge kitchen knife. “But at some point the dog bit me lightly on the arm and escaped”, says Soumia.

Hazel survived her injuries

Alerted by neighbors, police arrive quickly on site and challenge the young woman, who has a rate of 1.25 grams of alcohol per liter of exhaled air. Seriously injured, Hazel finally survived and underwent several operations. The dog will be entrusted to the SPA in the coming days.



Soumia she expressed her regrets. “I love all my dogs (…). There, I had drunk, I do not know what came over me, I do not understand. Even alcoholic, I never laid a hand on them (…). What I did was unforgivable, I also apologize to my friend who put me up.”  She was finally sentenced to twelve months imprisonment, six suspended for torture. She is also prohibited from owning a pet for two years.
