TRANSPORT: The service line is scheduled for 2nd July …
At five months of commissioning, the high-speed line Brittany-Loire Valley accelerates the pace. As part of the trials since 21st November, all of the new line between Rennes and Le Mans was covered last week at the speed of 352 km/h, or “the maximum service speed of 320 km/h plus 10%, “says Eiffage Rail Express, the group responsible for the construction of the LGV.
Testing continues until end of February
“This is a new step for the authorization of commercial operation, prior to the programmed start July 2, 2017,” says Eiffage. The tests will still continue until the end of February on connections Connerré, Sable-sur-Sarthe La Milesse and Laval.
They promise to be more complicated since these portions will fit into the existing traffic, between commercial trains daily. The tests will be conducted from 5am to 10pm. At its start commercial operation on the 2nd July, the new high speed line from Rennes will be within one and a half hours of Paris.
