The German airline Lufthansa announced on Wednesday, that it will be setting up flights from the Nantes Atlantique Airport in the Pays de la Loire. Voted the First European airline in passengers carried and co-founder of Star Alliance, it will starts flights from Nantes to Munich on the 28th March 2017. Four flights a week are planned on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
“Through its positioning and its European and international reputation, the arrival of Lufthansa strengthens openness and international connectivity of the Great West,” commented François Marie, director of Nantes Atlantique Airport.
Volotea already connected to Munich
There was already a Nantes-Munich link provided by the low-cost airline Volotea. Munich Airport is a hub to many destinations, including North America, India, China or the Middle East, so more airlines are providing connections to Munich.
Last week, the British airline British Airways, had also announced its return to the Pays de la Loire region with flights to commence to the Nantes Atlantique Airport, after 9 years of absence.
