He managed to make 23 km in less than 10 minutes on country and urban roads. The motorcyclist was arrested on Friday night around 11 pm when the motorbike crashed and came to rest on its side, according to La Voix du Nord.
The chase began when police saw the motorcyclist go through the village of Vis-en-Artois, on a departmental road, near Arras. The driver had been flashed speeding at 200 km/h. In less than ten minutes, he managed to cross the ring road from Arras and travel 23 km at an average speed of 172 km/h, according to police.
Call for witnesses
His wild journey ended on the side of Souchez between Arras and Bethune. The driver, a 29-year Arrageois fell at the exit of a corner. He spent the night of Friday to Saturday at the hospital, and suffered a broken collarbone.
