Francois Hollande has said he will prosecute Fraudalent European Companies after the release of the Panama Papers

“If there are companies in Europe who engage in these actions, they will be prosecuted” , said the President of the French Republic, during a joint news conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel where they discussed the disclosures from the Panama Papers.  “What was revealed is good news because we can further track down fraud, fraudsters” , he continued.  ” I think the particular laundering of money of all trades ” .

French banks are forced to declare their offshore activities?

At the same time, Le Monde announced  that in France, the prudential and resolution Authority (ACPR) have requested more information from French banks about their activities in tax havens. “All this new information of course was immediately taken into account ” , said a spokesman for the ACPR this evening. Clearly, banks would have to declare all their offshore activities.
