Elton John will go to court for “violation of the right to respect for private life” after broadcasting by three French media “unfounded rumors” about his health and that of his husband, his lawyer said.

“Sir Elton John and David Furnish, which I am the lawyer instructed my office to pursue judicially violation of the entitlement to respect for their private life due to the reporting by Closermag.fr, and TéléStar.fr VOD unfounded rumors about their health, “wrote Mr. Vincent Toledano in a statement. “The summons will be issued today, Monday” at TGI Nanterre, he said.

The British singer and songwriter and his husband “will not tolerate the violation of their privacy and the exploitation of their reputation and their image for commercial purposes in France,” added the lawyer in the release.  The couple stayed on the French Riviera this summer.
