An IFOP poll for the Journal du Dimanche gives Alain Juppé as desired personality to Nicolas Sarkozy as candidate of the Republicans in the 2017 presidential election
Alain Juppé (42%) is the desired personality to Nicolas Sarkozy (33%) as a candidate of the Republicans in the presidential election of 2017, for supporters of the right and center of the party, according to an IFOP poll for the newspaper Journal du Dimanche (JDD ).
There are less than a month, before the Republican convention to be held on May 30th, “in our first survey in April, the percentages were exactly reversed, 42% for Nicolas Sarkozy and Alain Juppe 33%, “ highlights the JDD which qualifies this change an “Event.”
To the question “what personality from the following list of 20 republicans, would you like to see designated as a candidate for the presidential election of 2017, at the end of the primary on the 27th November 2016 and to nominate its candidate for the presidential elections “ , 42% of respondents chose Alain Juppé before Nicolas Sarkozy (33%), Bruno Le Maire (13%) and François Fillon (7%).
Xavier Bertrand and Nathalie Kosciusko-Morizet then arrive with both 2% to Hervé Morin (1%). The survey was conducted by self-administered online questionnaire from 4 to 9 June 2015, a sample from 625 supporters of right and center, taken from a sample of 1,879 people representative of the French population aged 18 and over, by the quota method.
