Minelli, it’s Over: All Stores will Close on May 30, “Exceptional Discounts” to be Expected

The shoe manufacturer Minelli was in a bad situation, but it is now official, its stores will all close at the end of May 2026.
The shoe designer Minelli, placed in receivership last March, two and a half years after an identical procedure, announced Wednesday 13th May its definitive closure after the 30th May 2026, date until which its stores will remain open.
“It is with a heavy heart that we announce that Minelli is closing its doors for good”, declared the Provençal leather goods and footwear brand founded in 1973, in a publication on the social network Instagram.
“This period marks the end of a deeply human adventure, carried out by passionate teams who have brought the brand to life with commitment and sincerity for more than half a century”, concludes management on the social network.
Candidates to buy the brand had until May 11 to submit their application, and according to AFP, four out of six offers proposed the takeover of one or two stores. They do not seem to have been chosen.

On this occasion, Minelli stores will set low prices in their stores: customers will be able to benefit from “-60% exceptional discount on the entire store”. Online orders are suspended. The brand, headquartered near Marseille, has been present in France for 50 years.

During its previous receivership in 2023, the brand was saved by three buyers — investors and the clothing brand “Mes Demoiselles Paris” — and integrated into a new entity, “Maison Minelli”. Its rescue in 2024 was to the detriment of many employees, with the workforce falling from 600 to less than 200.
The brand lost 3.7 million euros during its last published financial year 2024-2025. She therefore found herself in financial difficulty again and was placed in receivership in March 2026 after a safeguard procedure.
Claire’s, Jennyfer, Okaïdi, IKKS… Many accessory or ready-to-wear brands have been placed in receivership in France for two years, some suffering in particular from competition from very low-cost Asian sites.
