Dacia Achieves a Solid Success with its Bigster

AUTO: Unlike many brands which are bearing the brunt of the decline in the automobile market, Dacia displays a broad smile thanks to the success of the Sandero, the Duster and now the Bigster
Launched in January 2025, the Bigster, the large SUV Dacia quickly established itself as a pillar of its range. Just one year after its arrival on the market, it has just crossed the symbolic milestone of 100,000 units produced in the Mioveni factory, in Romania. According to figures communicated by the brand, 67,573 copies have already found buyers in Europe, including 16,283 in France. Solid performance which allows the Bigster to compete with, or even surpass, certain benchmark models in the segment, such as the Renault Austral or the Volkswagen Tiguan.
Based on these results, the manufacturer does not intend to stop there. Two new models are expected in 2026. The first will be a light electric vehicle, based on the new one Renault Twingo E-Tech. The second will be positioned in segment C (type Peugeot 308 or Volkswagen Golf), with hybrid and thermal engines.
Furthermore, gasoline versions of the Duster and Bigster should be launched later this year in order to further expand the offering and meet the expectations of all European markets.
The key to this success
If the Bigster is so attractive, it is above all thanks to a particularly aggressive pricing positioning. It is among the most accessible family SUVs on the market, without sacrificing the essentials. From the entry level, the equipment is complete, with alloy wheels, digital instrumentation, a 10.1-inch central touch screen, as well as an extensive set of driving aids.
Dacia has also been able to adapt its range of engines to current market expectations. The Bigster is offered in hybrid versions ranging from 140 to 155 hp, with the possibility of all-wheel drive on certain versions. In conclusion, by focusing on simplicity, efficiency and cost control, Dacia manages to do well in a tense economic context.
