Three good reasons to go to the Trois Glorieuses this weekend in Craon

From 6th to 8th September 2025, the iconic Trois Glorieuses horse race takes place in Craon (Mayenne). Three days where the horse is king and the public flocks to bet, party and watch the show.
This weekend, the Touche racecourse, in Craon, will live to the rhythm of its flagship event: the Trois Glorieuses. A festive, sporting and popular celebration, not to be missed. For what? Because this meeting is much more than a simple sporting event: it embodies a regional heritage passed down from generation to generation. With its 177 years of history, the Craon racecourse is one of the oldest institutions in France.

The Trois Glorieuses, at the Touche racecourse, every first weekend in September, constitute an unmissable event for horse racing enthusiasts and lovers of regional traditions. This event celebrates a solid heritage: the Craon racecourse is 177 years old and enjoys one of the oldest reputations in France. “These three days are sport, spectacle and sharing. There is not a Mayennais who has not set foot on the Craon racecourse one day, recognizes Hugues Crosnier, the president. Each edition attracts enthusiasts who sometimes come from far away.
2. Spectacular races over three days
For three days, the Craon racecourse will offer a rich and varied program. “We live at an international pace, with Italian, Czech, Belgian, English but also Franco-Chinese representatives”, specifies the president. On Saturday, the public will meet for the launch, marked by the Criterium de l’Ouest with 105 participants. Sunday, it’s time for the Craon Grand Cross, with 86 participants (flagship 6 km event with obstacles), a legendary and highly anticipated race of the meeting. Monday is the Green Trophy final, with 117 participants and extended festivities. In total, up to 25 different races (flat, trot, obstacles) take place over the weekend.
3. A friendly atmosphere for everyone
Beyond the races, the Trois Glorieuses are a real celebration for young and old. Entrance remains accessible: 6 € per adult, 3 € for 18-25 year olds, and free for under 18s. “There are also children’s attractions, rides, a lottery, inflatable structures, as well as stalls and fast food in the village”, indicates Hugues Crosnier, the president of the racecourse.
