Pas-de-Calais: a 37-year-old Man Shot Dead

In Loos-en-Gohelle, near Lens (Pas-de-Calais), a 37-year-old man was found dead during the night from Wednesday to Thursday August 28. Several gunshot wounds were noted on the victim’s body.
A 37-year-old man was found shot and killed in Loos-en-Gohelle, near Lens (Pas-de-calais) on the night of Wednesday to Thursday August 28, 2025, learned l’Agence France-Presse (AFP) with the Béthune prosecutor, Étienne Thieffry and a police source.
“Several injuries” findings on the body made it possible to open an investigation for “intentional homicide”, entrusted to the interdepartmental service of the judicial police (SIPJ), explained the prosecutor.
No weapon or direct witness
According to a police source interviewed by l’AFP, the victim was killed by a firearm, his body having been hit by two bullet holes. No weapons were found at the scene and there are no “no direct witnesses to the facts”. The victim’s brother discovered the body in an alley, said Étienne Thieffry.
No one has yet been arrested in this case, according to the prosecutor, awaiting the results of the autopsy.
