RETURN: The actor, Michael Keaton hasn’t worn the superhero Batman since 1992
Michael Keaton has always been considered one of the best actors to portray Batman, in the two iconic Tim Burton films, in the late 80s and early 90s. Fans of the actor and the character can start preparing for the reunion: The Birdman star is, according to The Hollywood Reporter, on track to reprise the role in the next Flash movie.

The DCU is preparing to introduce the concept of the Multiverse, already present for several years in DC comics, where several versions of the same character exist in parallel universes. In other words, all options are now possible, since the universes could intersect if the writers decide, and Michael Keaton’s Batman would therefore be distinct from that of Robert Pattinson, in the film in preparation directed by Matt Reeves.
Start from scratch
Michael Keaton’s Batman would, in any case, be considered as a mentor for several characters of the Multiverse, such as that, for example, of Batgirl (a film is in preparation), like that of Nick Fury in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Enough to imagine that the DCU is preparing for a global event that would bring together all its characters, like the epic Avengers: Endgame.
The DC Universe lends itself to this: one of the founding stories, Crisis on Infinite Earths, in the 80s, was about how superheroes from all these parallel universes banded together to try to save the Multiverse and failed. A cataclysmic event in which hundreds of characters died to create a unique and more cohesive universe.
Flash is slated for release in 2021.
