CINEMA: In two weeks, Todd Philips’ movie, Joker, was seen by more than 2.8 million people in French cinemas
Joker remains at the top of the French box office for its second week of operation. Todd Phillips’ film, which won the Golden Lion at the last Venice Film Festival, recorded 1.2 million admissions, according to CBO Box Office figures released Wednesday. In total, this feature-length film centred on Batman’s archenemy was seen by more than 2.8 million people in French cinemas.
Another “wicked” comes in second place. A little over 786,000 tickets were sold for Maleficent: The Power of Evil, narrating the adventures of the famous Disney witch encamped by Angelina Jolie.
“In the name of the land” continues its successful career
The film is ahead Give me wings, fiction director and adventurer Nicolas Vanier, known for his dog sledge journeys. This feature film is downgraded to third place but retains as many viewers as last week, thus accumulating 630,000 admissions in two weeks.
This fiction is inspired by the story of Christian Moullec, a scientist who, in the 1990s, attempted the crazy bet of flying in a microlight with wild geese to change their migration route.
In the name of the Earth, Edouard Bergeron’s film on the agricultural world and its difficulties continues its good career with 1,387,260 entries cumulated in the space of four weeks – of which 276,500 last week. The animated film Shaun the Sheep Movie: the firm counterattack, completes the Top 5 with, 261,698 entries in a week.
