It will be closed to traffic from Friday evening to Monday morning in north-south direction …

Because of the uncertainties related to weather are now lifted and it has now been confirmed that the work to create a third lane on the Cheviré bridgewill take place this weekend, announced the Interdepartmental Directorate of Roads (DIR) West.

High risk of traffic jams

Accordingly, the bridge will be completely closed to traffic between the Estuary and Bouguenais in the outside direction (north-south) at 9pm Friday to Monday morning at 6 o’clock.

Planned deviations will be set up on each side. But it is advisable for motorists to avoid crossing the Loire to the west of Nantes during the work, especially on Saturday afternoon and Sunday evening.  The Anne de Bretagne bridge and Trois Continents should be very busy, the same also for the l’île de Nantes and the quai de la Fosse.

The work had been planned to be completed last weekend but the risk of showers had forced  Dir-West to shift the work to this weekend.
