WEATHER: The winds blew at over 100 km/h in the day in the Gironde due to the storm Miguel, causing many disturbances
Violent winds are falling on Nouvelle Aquitaine, and especially in Gironde, since Friday morning because of the storm Miguel. This phenomenon has caused significant damage to the power grid. And for good reason: winds of 117 km / h at Cap Ferret and nearly 100 km / h in the Medoc were recorded Friday morning.
Result: Enedis indicates this Friday afternoon that at least 35,000 customers are deprived of electricity, including 18,000 in the Gironde, 16,000 in the Dordogne, and 1,000 in Lot-et-Garonne. The situation was still not restored at 16h, and 200 technicians are mobilized in the field.
Disturbances in transport and ODP festival in Talence cancelled
Also, transport has been seriously disrupted. The SNCF thus had to interrupt several TER and Intercités lines, notably on the Bordeaux-Le Verdon, Bordeaux-La Rochelle, Royan-Niort and Royan-Angoulême lines, which caused a great mess at the Bordeaux station. Even the urban transport was affected, since line C of the Bordeaux tram is interrupted on the antenna of Blanquefort this Friday afternoon, because of a fallen tree on the way.
