38 departments are on orange alert for storms and floods this Monday. Intense rainfall is expected in the northern half of the country until the next night.
38 departments , mainly in northern France, run Monday the risk of violent thunderstorms , or even floods or flood after a weekend where lightning and heavy rains hit again, including the Gers and Moselle.
Rains and thunderstorms were Monday morning concentrated on a broad band of Poitou-Charentes to the south-east of the Paris region .
According to the latest bulletin of Météo-France published at 4pm, the Southwest (Landes, Pyrénées-Atlantiques and Hautes-Pyrénées) was partly placed in vigilance. The alert was however raised in Cher and Indre.
“A rainy and stormy band was organized from Poitou-Charente to the south-east of the Paris region. It approaches the Pays de la Loire, intensity of about 30 mm in 1 hour are observed.”
