Paris supports victims of the attack in Kabul . The mayor of the capital Anne Hidalgo announced via her Twitter account that the Eiffel Tower would be extinguished at midnight Saturday night in tribute to the nearly 100 people who died in the day in the centre of the Afghan capital in the explosion of a booby-trapped ambulance.

“Tonight at midnight, the Eiffel Tower will go out for the victims of the despicable attack which struck the heart of Kabul. The City of Paris, Parisian and Parisians are alongside the Afghan people facing again the terrorist barbarism, “wrote Anne Hidalgo.

Alert level extreme in Afghanistan

The explosion of a booby-trapped ambulance Saturday in the center of Kabul was claimed by the Taliban. According to the latest reports, the attack has 95 victims and 158 injured.

The alert level is extreme right now in Kabul, particularly in the centre and diplomatic area which most embassies and foreign institutions were placed in lock down(prohibited output). The attack is the third in a week after the attack on the Intercontinental Hotel in Kabul Saturday 20th January, claimed by the Taliban and the Wednesday local Save the Children in Jalalabad (east), claimed by Daesh.



The Eiffel Tower, symbol monument of the French capital, is regularly turned off in tribute to victims of terrorist attacks in the world.
