Until Sunday 26 November, “La Rondine”, an opera by Giacomo Puccini, is on view at the Toulouse Capitole Theater with a young Russian interpreter to discover.
“The swallow” returns to the Capitol. It is with pleasure that we welcome thousands return to the poster of the Theater du Capitole “La Rondine” (The Swallow), the opera by Giacomo Puccini What took place on neutral ground, Monte Carlo (1917), during the first World war.
A partition of a rare modernity
Twice remodeled, this work will never know the same composer successful titles such as “Bohemia”, “Tosca” and “Butterfly”. And that’s a shame because, even if it does not reach the dramatic intensity peaks of these three works, it contains not less than a score of rare modernity that time , a partition where the slip waltzes and fox trot rhythms imported by the composer on his recent trip to the United States.
Also pleased to find the magnificent production “very art deco” directed by Nicolas Joel and created in loco in 2005. Finally pleasure to discover new and young performers with the Russian Ekaterina Bakanova, who just made a triumph in this role Florence.
