Karine Barth takes over the Management of Le Prieuré College in Craon

Deputy director of Saint-Michel college in Château-Gontier (Mayenne) since September 2020, Karine Barth has arrived at the head of Le Prieuré college in Craon. She succeeds Alan-Paul Bréjon.
Originally from Saint-Georges-des-Gardes (Maine-et-Loire), Karine Barth arrived in Mayenne in 2017. I came there for love, my husband had found work in Laval, I followed him
, she smiles. A teacher of history and geography since 2008, after training at the Catholic University of the West of Angers, the new director of Le Prieuré college began her career at the Notre-Dame de Bonne-Nouvelle high school (today Ensemble Dom Sortais) in Beaupréau-en-Mauges (Maine-et-Loire).
Climb the ladder
In 2009, she joined the teaching team at the Sainte-Agnès high school in Angers, before joining, a year later, still in the same city, the Mongazon high school, an establishment where she will continue to teach her classes for ten years.
In 2019, Karine Barth left Maine-et-Loire to come and teach at Saint-Michel college in Château-Gontier
. From the 2020-2021 school year, she will also serve as deputy director until last June.
It was during this period, while she had been training for three years to become head of a school, that Karine Barth was asked by the diocesan management to take over the management of Le Prieuré college, a mission that she accepted, even if she admits not having it considered that it would happen so quickly
.
Be at the service of a team
Karine Barth assures her, she does not want to revolutionize anything in the organization of the establishment, everything will be done continuously, I trust people who have been in place for many years and are of quality
. She considers, in fact, to be only a smuggler and to be at the service of a team. There are beautiful things that were done before me, there will be others that will be done after me
.
If on the occasion of this new school year, she can only note a slight drop in the number of students (320 compared to 335) due, according to her, demographic developments
, the director is, however, delighted with the opening of a fourth class of sixeme to respond to the increase in numbers at this level.
Strengthen cohesion
The teaching team, for its part, records the arrival of four new teachers: Inès de Raguenel (French), Carole Dublé (English), Walker Sibylle (German) and El Yaalaoui Younès (maths).
The director also announced that she wanted to work on cohesion between the teaching team and the students, and that in this dynamic, the idea was to relaunch the talent evening, and all the actions and stays already in place
.
The future of old prefabs under study
On the occasion of the start of the school year, Karine Barth, as the new director of the Le Prieuré college, revealed that discussions were underway with the members of the Ogec (Organization for the Management of Catholic Education) concerning the realization of work on old prefabricated buildings (construction or rehabilitation), which date from the 1970s. She hopes that the project, which will provide better reception conditions for students and teachers, will come to fruition during the school year
