Hit by a Vehicle, Chris Froome, Four-Time Winner of the Tour, Airlifted and Hospitalized

Chris Froome, four-time winner of the Tour de France, was hit by a vehicle during training in the Var on Wednesday 27th August, according to information from L’Équipe. The Briton, conscious, was hospitalized. End of season, and perhaps end of career for the Israel-Premier Tech rider.
Already at the twilight of his career, Chris Froome was the victim of an accident on Wednesday 27th August in the Var region. According to The Team, the four-time winner of the Tour de France (2013, 2015, 2016, 2017) was hit by a vehicle during training.
Helicopter at Toulon hospital, the Briton was conscious. But the severity of the injury, which remains to be determined, should prevent him from competing until the end of the season.
End of career?
Six years ago Froome was the victim of an accident while reconnaissance of a stage of the liberated Dauphiné. Since then, the runner is now 40 years old left Ineos for Israel-Premier Tech without ever returning to its former level. His last two Grand Tours? The Vuelta 2020 (98th) and the Vuelta 2022 (114th). Far from his glorious years, marked by success: four Tours de France, two Tours of Spain (2011, 2017) and a Tour of Italy (2018).
Still unclear about the rest of his career, even before this week’s accident, Chris Froome has undoubtedly given up on his end of the season. But he may have, unbeknownst to him, also ended his career with this new setback.
