In the Europa League, Rennes is Eliminated and Saint-Etienne Compromised

Rennes is already out of the Europa League after their new defeat against the Romanians of Cluj (1-0); Saint-Etienne compromised their qualification for the 16th after a draw.

Another nightmarish night for the French clubs in the Europa League: in the wake of the elimination of Rennes after his new defeat against the Romanians of Cluj (1-0), Saint-Etienne was joined in the additional time by the Ukrainians of Olexandriya (2-2) and compromises his qualification for the last 16.

The Greens ruin

With this draw conceded at the end of the match, Saint-Etienne will have to get a result against La Gantoise at the Cauldron on November 28th to then afford a final against Wolfsburg in Germany on the last day.

However, the victory was reaching for Saint-Etienne who led 2-0 with Wahbi Khazri and Mahdi Camara up to 10 minutes from the final whistle and two defensive errors: a missed clearance from Mathieu Debuchy who offered a first goal all made to the Ukrainians (2-1, 84th) then a bad intervention of Stéphane Ruffier who pushed the ball into the feet of a player of Olexandriya obviously skilful when it comes to half-volleyed (2-2, 90th + 1).

Rennes already eliminated

With a single point in four days, the Bretons will not see this year’s round of 32, defeated 1-0 in Cluj, who had already beaten on the same score at Roazhon Park.

The disturbing momentum continues for the men of Julien Stéphan who had lined up his team-type, only deprived of the young Eduardo Camavinga, suspended. The Rennes have won only one match since the end of August …

The Reds and Blacks cracked a corner late in the game when Venezuelan striker Mario Rondon, alone at the first post, opened the scoring with a powerful header (87th).

Without fail of Seville, qualified

The Andalusian club continued its solid card (12 points) with a logical demonstration against Luxembourger Dudelange
A success signed two players little used this season with a hat-trick of Munir El Haddadi and a doubling of Munas Dabbur, his first two with the Andalusian club.

Arriving this summer from Salzburg, the Israeli striker has not even played a minute in La Liga.
