On Wednesday evening, around 8.45pm, an accident occurred in Saint-Romain, in the south of the Charente, at a place called La Maladrerie, at the intersection of roads D2 and D78.
Two cars collided frontally in a bend. In one of the vehicles, which would have been shunted to the left, was an English driver in their sixties, who was not injured.
The other vehicle that was struck was occupied by three British nationals aged 65 to 70. The driver was seriously injured, he suffered multiple fractures to the sternum and ribs and was admitted to Girac. According to our information, one of the passengers is in intensive care following a big deterioration on the respiratory level.
The third person, a woman, was transported to the CHU Poitiers with Smur Angoulême. She has six fractures to the vertebrae, ribs and arm.
