The Quad accident took place at a place called Orcières, not far from Neuvéglise (Cantal). A young man fell, seriously injuring his back. The latter was evacuated at Clermont University Hospital.
It was around 3:30 pm yesterday, Sunday 6th October 2019, that a young man was seriously injured in the back after a fall from a quad bike in the woods of Puy de Chou.
An arduous place of intervention
It was during a quad ride with two friends , that this 17 year old dropped heavily in the wood of Puy de Chou, Orcieres, Neuvéglise-sur-Truyère.
Warned by his two companions, the SMUR of Saint-Flour and the PGM Murat were sent to the scene to assist the victim.
Seriously injured in the back, despite the wearing of all the security elements, the young man had to be stabilized before being transferred by helicopter to Clermont-Ferrand University Hospital. Handicapped by the weather conditions of the day, the helicopter Dragon 63, civil security, had to wait for the victim in a clearing near the tragedy.
The investigation is ongoing to determine whether the three teenagers were driving on a private or public road.
