A cruise liner made a sensational arrival in Venice (Italy) this Sunday, June 2, 2019. The ship, company MSC and built in Saint-Nazaire (Loire-Atlantique) , missed its berth against the submerging embarkation platform a large tourist boat, reports Rai Veneto.
The accident resulted in two minor injuries and two other people were taken to the hospital for examination.
Engine failure and rupture of a steel cable
According to the Italian media , the MSC Opera was the victim of an engine failure . Tethered by a tug, the liner then saw one of the steel cables pulling it to break and thus cause its total loss of control.
