Known around the world thanks to its title “Wake me up”, the Swedish DJ Avicii died Friday, April 20, 2018 in Oman. He was 28 years old.
DJ Avicii, who had collaborated with Madonna and Coldplay , died at age 28, his agent said on Friday.
The artist, also a producer, died in Oman, said his agent.
His real name Tim Bergling, the Swedish DJ was a worldwide success in 2013 with titles like Wake me up or Hey brother.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii,” said the spokesman for the artist in a statement sent to the site Variety.

“He was found dead in Muscat (the capital of Oman) on Friday afternoon. His family is devastated and we ask everyone to respect his need for intimacy in this difficult time. No further statements will be given. ”
In recent years, the DJ, considered one of the best in the world, had made no secret of his health problems. In 2012, he was hospitalised in New York for pancreatitis due to excessive alcohol consumption. He had to cancel shows in 2014 to remove the gall bladder and appendix. In 2016, the star of the electro had ended his career , explaining wanting to do “more (things) of his life.”
