Sunday night, five days from the end of the season, PSG won its seventh title of champion of France by beating Monaco (7-1)
In France at least, the PSG is sovereign: disappointing in the Champions League, he won the seventh French championship in his history on Sunday crawling (7-1) Monaco, which had been crowned in its place a year earlier despite the economic superiority of Parisians.
This will no doubt erase the regrets left by the European campaign quickly aborted, in the knockout stages of the Champions League against Real Madrid (1-3, 1-2). But the PSG is well on its way to afford the third national quadruplet of its history, counting the honorary Trophy of champions of beginning of season, after those succeeded during the last two seasons of the Laurent Blanc era (2014-15, 2015-16). It should be the only coach Unai Emery, at the end of the contract and should not be kept at his post.

Champions on Sunday for the seventh time in his history (after 1986, 1994, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016), he will still have to negotiate the semi-final of the Coupe de France on Wednesday in Caen, before a possible final that should not to pose a problem, May 8 at the Stade de France. It will be against a formation of National 1 (3rd division), Chambly or Les Herbiers, who compete Tuesday in the other semifinal.
Paris without equal national
Meanwhile, he took, once and for all, his revenge on the Monegasques who had deprived him of a fifth consecutive title last season. Thanks to an offensive festival driven by the Argentineans Giovano Lo Celso (14th, 28th) and Angel Di Maria (20th, 59th), both authors of a double, also with goals of Edinson Cavani (17th) and Julian Draxler ( 87th), he has crossed the 100 goals mark in L1 this season and sickened by Monegasque palesters.
The latter still reduced the mark by the Portuguese Rony Lopes (38th), before scoring against their side corner (Falcao, 76th).
This is the fourth time of the season that the outgoing champion, bled by the departures the previous summer, is thrashed by his former dolphin. Paris won the Champions Trophy (2-1), first leg in the league (2-1), and in the final of the Coupe de la Ligue (3-0). And on Sunday, he did not need Neymar, the man who was worth 222 million euros, wounded for two months, nor Kylian Mbappé, former nugget Monegasque snatched against 180 million euros (including 35 bonus) but sick, to crush the 2nd of Ligue 1.
In the league, Paris is the best offense (103 goals against 78 for Monaco), best defense (23 goals conceded), best away team and the author of a home without fault (17 wins in 17 games). The club of the capital left only 12 points (three draws, two defeats) out of 99 possible until then. And with another five days to play.
European regrets
The continental campaign in Paris will leave some regrets. The road exit is less scathing than the previous season, when Paris had been humiliated by a Barcelona not even brilliant (4-0, 1-6) from the eighth in the Champions League, before being dispossessed of his crown of France by little Monegasque princes.
But if Real Madrid was really stronger, Paris could have done better. And a club that has paid 400 million euros in one summer can not be satisfied with a national quadruplet.
So Paris will try to garner one last title, and finish his season as well as he led in Ligue 1, with seriousness and efficiency. His players will go to the World Cup or on vacation, while his leaders will brainstorm to improve the club.
Then Paris, who traditionally suffers in the post-World or Euro seasons since his Qatari flag, will start chasing the Champions League again. Hoping not to spoil, once again, an extraordinary season with the bitterness of disappointments and regrets.
