CYCLING: Marcel Kittel wins the 6th stage of the Tour de France 2017 to Troyes …
Like all the flat stages of this first week of the Tour de France in 2017 , the linking of Vesoul in Troyes was reserved for the sprinters of the peloton. And this time it is Marcel Kitel who won before Arnaud Démare and André Greipel after the first sprint finish after the disqualification of Peter Sagan and the abandonment of Mark Cavendish. This is the second victory for the German on this Tour de France.

On good flat stage that is perfect for the sprinters, we saw a breaway ealy in the race on Thursday, a top trio consisting of Quémeneur, Backaert and Laengen, and managed to get a lead of four minutes over the peloton. The gap has stabilized for one hour prior to it starting to crumble as the sprinters teams increased their speed over the final section of the race, until the lead becomes zero when approaching the finish line. With three kilometers to go, the peloton engulfed the breakaway and lthe finish belonged to the sprinters teams. They have as usual been content to accompany their rocket on the launch pad and watch them. Despite an excellent sprint against the barrier, Nono Démare had to bow against the power of Kittel.
Overall, Chris Froome retains the yellow jersey. He beat teammate Geraint Thomas and Fabio Aru.
