Tour de France: Fabio Aru is Winner on the 5th Stage, Froome in Yellow

Fabio Aru has emerged the winner of the fifth stage of the Tour de France.

Fabio Aru has emerged winner at the 5th stage between Vittel and La Planche des Belles Filles at a summit finish. He is now took third place overall in the General Classification. Christopher Froome has been outpaced by the Italian but takes the yellow jersey at the expense of teammate Geraint Thomas.

On Wednesday, it was the first real date for the general classification and the final victory of this Tour de France. The riders arrived at La Planche des Belles Filles (1035 m), after a final climb of 5.9 km 8.5% average.

Fabio Aru made a strong impression on the rise and in particular the last climb before the finish. While Thomas Voeckler accompanied Philippe Gilbert and Jan Bakelants among others were caught in the final kilometers by the peloton led by Sky.

Christopher Froome appeared serene and had strong strength with his tempo in the last kilometers of the climb is Fabio Aru the Italian champions who distinguished. He managed to outrun the favorites and has took third place overall in the general classification.
