New tragedy in rock. The singer of Linkin Park, Chester Bennington, died Thursday, confirmed the coroner of Los Angeles County. Authorities said the singer of 41 years was “apparently committed suicide.” According to police sources TMZ , Bennington hanged himself, like Chris Cornell in May . His body was discovered in a residence in Palos Verdes, near Los Angeles.

“Shocked and heartbroken, but it’s true, an official statement will come as soon as one has ” confirmed on Twitter by his friend Mike Shinoda.


Founded by three friends from high school in 1996 and joined by Chester Bennington in 1999, Linkin Park explodes in 2000 with their debut album Hybrid Theory, which mixes metal and rap, with Bennington and Mike Shinoda on vocals. Driven by the songs One Step CloserCrawling and In The End, the album will flow to more than 10 million copies in the US and 27 million worldwide, making it one of the biggest success 21st century with Adele and Norah Jones. The group had just released the album One More Light , which has not really wowed fans and critics with a pop corner

sexual and drug abuse

In 2011, the singer was told about his inspiration and his anguish at Guardian . He specifically said he was sexually abused as a child. After his parents divorced when he was 11, he started smoking cannabis before switching to cocaine and meth. He channeled his injuries in the rage of Hybrid Theory and fought his addiction throughout his life.


With the suicide of Chris Cornell, Bennington had published a moving tribute to his friend, wishing him to find “peace in [the] next life.” Not better.
