A boat sank off the coast of Pornic, Three people saved

On Thursday morning, a boat with three people on board has sunk off the Birochère beach, about 4 kilometers from the coast of Pornic.

This morning, a little before 10 am, the fishing boat “Aumelie II” sank off the Birochère beach, 4 kilometers off the coast of Pornic. On board: three persons. Their fishing net is believed to have stuck in the propeller of the boat of 6.2 meters. The three found themselves in the water.

The three are gathered in the water. The first was rescued by a pleasure boat that came to rescue. The second received help from an oyster barge. The third fisherman, who had remained more than 30 minutes in water before being saved, thanks to the intervention of the lifeboat with a semi-rigid.

A helicopter of the gendarmerie of Saint-Nazaire was also deployed, and two lifeboats of the SNSM (from Retz and Pornic).  The fishermen have had the sense to put their life jackets, which probably saved their lives. No injuries were reported.
