It seems to be there for a while already. And yet, the summer really starts today. With its top annual departure, the Fete de la Musique. For the occasion, and security forces (see also below), the center of Cognac will be only be open to pedestrians … who could well pour in if temperatures decide to play it cool in the evening. We give you three reasons to be there.
1. Because there is something for all tastes
For the 35th edition of the Music Festival, the town of Cognac leaves room for diversity and curiosity. From blues to electro through salsa or pop … All styles will be participating.
Thirty groups and activities are available this year around eleven locations: the François I. place at the Saint-Léger church, the place of Canton in St. Martin’s Church, or the covered market Camille Godard instead. The festivities begin once 14 hours public garden, with the representation of Cognac conservatory classes.
2. To discover local gems
This festival is always the opportunity for local groups to show their talent. To discover among others: The Hills, The Simpson Band, the classes of the rock school… or Diskover, which will open the show at 7 pm, on the place de la Solençon.
This Charentais group formed by Pauline Pelletier on vocals and guitar, Dylan Chenetre keyboard and harmonica, and Elliott Lavoué, guitarist and bass player, was born in November 2016. Three self-taught who have quickly found around a directory from British pop to country, through blues and rock.
The group primarily offers occasions as “Stand by me” or “Happy” . The gensacaise singer has participated in téléshows like “La nouvelle star” or “N’oubliez pas les paroles”.
Experiences that will remain for the rewarding. Although today she prefers to be part of a real project group. “We are looking primarily to make us happy, and share a moment of music with the public” , says Dylan Chenetre.
3. To take a tour of the new bars
New bars have entered in recent weeks in the Cognac countryside.
The Firefly, which opened in preview last weekend, taking advantage of the celebration to its official opening from 6pm in the Saint-Jacques district. Open since May Crunch also puts tune with a band and a DJ. Also in the city center, The Garage Bar also decided to transform la place du Canton into a dance floor.
