A girl of 4 years old has died of tuberculosis at the end of last week at the South Hospital of Rennes, reports Ouest-France . A native of Vilde-Guingalan town near Dinan (Côtes d’Armor), the child was hospitalized after being infected with the tuberculosis bacillus and developed the disease.
School students will have a chest radio
The Regional Health Agency immediately launched a screening program in the Nursery where the child was enrolled. Students from both school nursery classes will notably have a chest x-ray, which will be repeated in three months.
Staff and teachers of the school and the family and relatives of the child are also invited to perform a screening. The deaths related to TB bacilli are very rare in France today.
