A very quick shake but strong enough to be felt by residents. On Saturday night at 11.19pm preciously, the earth shook in the Valley of Chamonix, Haute-Savoie. An earthquake measuring a magnitude of 3.0 under the SED Swiss Seismological Service.

Residents worried
The earthquake, whose epicentre is located near Vallorcine, “was held in the activated area by the earthquake of 8 September 2005 of magnitude 4.9 that caused minor damage in the epicentral area. It can therefore be considered as a replica of this event. The last similar event took place on 23 November 2014 and had a magnitude of 3.2, “the SED.
This small earthquake was felt by many residents, in the region . Haute-Savoie firefighters were deployed to check for any material damage and have had to deal with calls from several concerned residents after the earthquake.
