Their disappearance had been reported in the early evening Monday …
They were found safe in Villeneuve-Loubet. Sought since Monday night after the violent storms that have battered the French Riviera in the night from Saturday to Sunday, two German nationals have been located, announced the Alpes-Maritimes prefecture. The disappearance of the two tourists who were staying at the camping le Pylône in Antibes, near La Brague, had been reported by their daughter, who had not received any news of her parents since the bad weather and heavy downpour.
The deluge has already seen 20 deaths, while the delicate clearing operations continue. A Briton, an Italian and a Portuguese are among the victims. Also among them, are eight people who died in an underground parking lot in the village of Mandelieu. Three residents of a retirement home in Biot also died. Two other people are still missing.
