A professional skydiver died earlier today, Saturday at Bondues, near Lille, the fault to his parachute would not open. “A parachutist was found dead on Saturday morning,” said the departmental operational centre for fire and rescue (CODIS). Firefighters found that “neither his main parachute nor his reserve parachute were open”, the source said.
The parachutist accounted for more than 5,000 jumps
The body of the man, aged 35, was found near the parachuting centre at Bondue in a field. The professional skydiver was employed by the centre. He was an experienced instructor and accounted for more than 5,000 jumps. A police investigation was opened to determine the causes of the accident.
