The National Frequencies Agency (ANFR) released on Wednesday the results of the Observatory on the cover of the mobile network operators in France on 1 September 2015.
Leader Orange, SFR, Numericable lagging
By consulting the document, we learn that 21,440 sites have been authorized in France, including 18,307 related to 4G. The operators’ side, Orange continues to dominate the competition with a total of 7.811 Sites, to Bouygues Telecom (6728 sites in services) and Free (4455). Overall, the number of authorized sites increased 2.4% from the month of August 2015.
Regarding the network 4G, Orange is still in the lead, ahead of Bouygues Telecom, Free and SFR mobile-Numericable. With 74% of the population covered, the incumbent offers the largest 4G coverage in France. Note that Free, which began its deployment in the 1800 MHz band in August, recorded strong growth, exceeding SFR, Numericable.
