This weekend is the Telethon, which is a national fundraising event that the whole of France normally gets involved in and takes part over all of the weekend. Most villages have different events taking place, for example in the village where I live, Sion les Mines, there is a show, which my wife is dancing in on the Friday night and a dinner on the Saturday night with many sponsored events taking place during the day at the weekend. If you are in France, look out at what is going on at your village and take the time to get involved as it is all for a good cause and a good chance to meet your neighbours and fit into the local community.
