Bags, shoes or clothes … Several tons of luxury goods were seized this week by the police in Pézenas ( Hérault ) and in the surrounding villages.
The counterfeited products which were manufactured from Asia and France, were sold on the Internet, via individual transaction sites in particular, but also on the spot in a garage acting like a clandestine supermarket.
Eight luxury vehicles seized
“Ten people from 26 to 36 years old were arrested on Wednesday,” continues the source. Three of them were jailed Friday and two placed under judicial control.
In addition to the counterfeit products, 150,000 euros were seized in several bank accounts and 76,000 euros in cash as well as eight vehicles, including two luxury vehicles. This seizure is the result of an investigation conducted by the Investigation Brigade of the gendarmerie based at Lunel since the spring.
