A first in the air sector, intended to boost regional subsidiary Hop! the French company …
A bit like the SNCF, Air France will offer a card to young people, so that they can get preferential rates. For the sum of 49 euros per year, children, teenagers and young adults aged 12-25 will get the valuable card that will allow them to have up to 30% reduction on fares in peak periods on Air France and its regional affiliate Hop!, Le Parisien revealed.
“Today, we transport 800,000 young people per year. With this card, we hope to attract 100,000 more,” the newspaper explained by Lionel Guérin , head of Hop! “Young people are our customers of tomorrow, we must retain them. Since they are very price sensitive and compare prices on the Net, they are offered a young digital map for itself in a return. And it is hoped if successful to extend the scheme to students up to 28 years, “says Frédéric Gagey, CEO of Air France.
Small additional flexibility with this card: young people can also exchange their tickets for 10 euros and cancel the tickets for 20 euros. The effort is due to the increased competition from rail and carpooling such as BlaBlaCar and Air France commitment to revitalize its market strategy in the domestic market.
