Rapper King Von dies aged 26 following shooting in Atlanta

King Von has died aged 26 after being involved in a shooting in Atlanta which left two others dead and a further three injured.

Local news has confirmed the rapper was one of the men who died after gunshots were fired outside a lounge in Atlanta, Georgia.  The Georgia Bureau of Investigation told Channel 2 Action News that King Von, whose real name is Dayvon Bennett, and a group of men had left a nightclub and headed to a hookah lounge.

Two men are said to have approached the group in the parking lot before an argument ensued, which led to gunfire.

Friends of the rapper also shared tributes to him on social media, with DJ Akademiks wrote on Twitter: ‘It’s with great sadness that I have to confirm that King Von has passed away. I spoke with his manager who luckily has survived being shot and is currently recovering in the hospital.‘

However, Von manager did confirm that Von was shot and did not make it. RIP King Von.

He also shared a video from a news report with a police officer stating: ‘There was an incident where two groups of individuals got into a physical altercation, that physical altercation escalated into an exchange of gunfire with those groups.

‘Two police officers who were working at that particular club or lounge noticed the gunfire, noticed the altercation and engaged some of the people involved.

There was an exchange of gunfire with police as well. At this particular point we have five individuals who have been shot, two are deceased one is in critical condition and two are stable.’

King Von had recently released his debut album Welcome to O’Block, featuring Moneybagg Yo, Prince Dre, Dreezy and Lil Durk
